Last week South Sudan held it’s first multi-stakeholder awareness on Internet Governance in Jub, South Sudan. Supported by UNESCO and the National Communication Authority the event focused on highlighting the importance of Internet Governance and the need for more inclusive multistakeholder discussion to further Internet development in the country.
The program also witnessed the formation of the South Sudan Internet Governance Forum organizing committee led by two co-chairs, Kennedy Bullen and Unguec Stephen from Universal Trading company (UTC) and The National Communication Authority (NCA)respectively.
Together with the committee members, the group will now focus on mobilizing funds and setting an agenda for the first South Sudan Internet Governance Forum to be held early next year under the theme “Realizing Potential, Creating Opportunities ”
